AN environmental group is giving Stacksteads drop-in centre a spring clean this month.
Members of the Riverside Park Group are are to clean and re-paint the centre they set up earlier this year as a community information point with the help of SRB and other funders.
Group chairman Michael McShea said: "The building has been completely renovated inside, including the cellar which will be for the young people.
"We now have a huge job of cleaning and painting the property. We are hoping to attract lots of volunteers. We might even arrange a painting party."
The group will meet at the drop-in centre at 31b Newchurch Road, Stacksteads at noon on Monday to organise a rota of volunteers.
Anyone wishing to help should attend this meeting or ring Michael McShea on 01706 874607.
After the re-decorating is done carpets and blinds are to be fitted before the centre can officially open.
