IT has been a memorable cross country season for Pendle's Neil Tattersall.

His early season form earned him an invitation to run for the North of England Team in Belgium, and he has continued to excel over the winter months to win the Senior Men's title in Mid Lancs Cross Country League.

Neil collected his trophy from retiring Mid Lancs President Arnold Bibby at the Awards Evening held at the Salwick Club last Friday.

A second success for Pendle saw Ben Rusius victorious in the Under 15 Boys category. The Club's Young Athlete of the Year won the Hyndburn fixture and never finished lower than third.

Danielle Walker was top of the Under 13 Girls class with the perfect record - four races and four wins.

Fell specialist Katie Ingram from Chorley Harriers was our area's fourth winner taking the Under 17 Women's Division with four top three finishes.

The men from Clayton won two team titles. The 'A' team won the First Division title, and the over 40's were the Veteran First Division Champions. An impressive number of runners scored for the teams. Mark Aspinall won gold medals for both squads and also took individual silver as an over 40.

Two local teams won promotion, both from Blackburn Road Runners. The Senior Ladies and the Veteran Men each won Third Division silver medals.
