THE parents of school toughies will have to attend classes on how to make their young thugs behave.
Those who snub the order could face £1000 fines.
The war on classroom nuisance was announced by the education secretary Estelle Morris at the teachers' annual conference last week. They were told that schools will be able to apply for parenting orders to force mums and dads to learn how to discipline their youngsters.
Not before time, and I hope it doesn't exclude being able to give them a belt round the earhole. That's what a lot of them are short of, never mind what to do gooders say.
I found a quick clip, and I didn't get many, more preferable to being nagged at any day.
The minister says it can't be correct that a teacher should be the first person to teach children how to behave. Anyone in their right mind has to agree with that.
