In a pulsating final at the County Ground in Leyland, Blackburn Youth League went down 6-4 to the Bolton Boys Federation.
This was truly an awesome game which saw Blackburn come back from 3-0 down.
Blackburn keeper Richard Riding had the worst possible start when he pulled out of a routine kick up field to let in Butcher to score the first for Bolton. Bolton went 2-0 up when Butcher scored from the spot. Things only got worse as right back Suleman Chothia limped off injured after 5 minutes. McInnes got the third and Blackburn seemed dead and buried.
Shakil Butt's deep cross found Liam Hill Parker to put Blackburn in with a shout. Shakil then added the second after good work from Michael Saunders. Andrew Riding equalised before Butcher got his hat-trick to put Bolton 4-3 up. Blackburn equalised again through Liam Hill Parker.
In extra-time Blackburn both Butt and Mohammed went close but Bolton had the last laugh and scored two more to claim the cup.
