CLITHEROE golf club are hosting the 2002 Willie Thorne Celebrity Golf Day on June 25.
Thorne, who holds the world record for the highest number of maximum 147 breaks, is the first ever snooker player to be holding a testimonial year after 26 years in top-flight snooker.
Celebrities such as Rovers star Garry Flitcroft, Rovers coach Dean Saunders, former Rovers players Mike Newell and Tim Sherwood, champion jockey Tony McCoy, Bolton boss Sam Allardyce, snooker stars John Parrott, John Virgo, Dennis Taylor and Willie Thorne, and many more from TV, football and racing will play with each of the 25 teams.
The event will be followed by a gala dinner at the Macdonald Dunkenhalgh Hotel with Bonny Davro and surprise celebrities providing the entertainment.
