STAFF at a plastic makers were evacuated from their work premises after fire broke out in a small extraction unit.
More than 20 people from the company based at Balderstone Close, Burnley, and the unit next door were ordered from the buildings as a precautionary measure while firefighters tackled the blaze.
They used a thermal imaging camera to check for fire anywhere else in the building before staff were allowed back inside 30 minutes later.
Station Officer Dave Jackson said: "The ground floor unit was seriously smoke damaged so we had to clear most of that before we could let anyone go back inside.
"No-one suffered smoke inhalation as they were all out of the building by the time we got there. We are currently investigating the cause of the fire."
