NORWICH City may look to have a simple task on Sunday with the visit of bottom club Stockport County to Carrow Road but the Hatters are determined to do Burnley a favour.

Even before the Clarets beat Stockport County at Wembley in 1994's second division play-off final the Edgeley Park fans had no great fondness for Burnley.

Ever since that day they have felt even greater antipathy towards them and so they are travelling to Norfolk in a no lose situation.

""We have sold our full allocation of 1000 tickets and the fans are all looking forward to it," admitted Des Hinks from the club's official web-site.

"They want to see the team win again but if they should lose and so keep Burnley out of the play-offs none of them will be upset.

"But it is different for the players and they are determined to do well. They have been playing well of late and were excellent in the home win against Sheffield Wednesday last week.

"They have not won an away game since Carlton Palmer took over and they want to end the season on a high."

And Hinks had some comforting news for Clarets fans hoping for an upset at Carrow Road.

"If County have done well against a team once this season they have often done well twice," he explained. "We did the double over Bradford and we took four points off both Man City and Watford.

"We have already beaten Norwich at home and so the players want to spoil their party. It makes no difference to them whether Burnley or Norwich make the play-offs, they just want the last game of this season to set them up for the start of next."

It is certain to be a young County side as the average age of the team that beat Watford recently was just 20. The club has used 13 home grown players this season and they have been determined to play themselves into Palmer's plans for Division Two.

"There is no chance that Stockport will lie down at Norwich," insisted Hinks. "Burnley fans can be assured of that. They may lose but it won't be for want of trying."
