ABOUT 12 months ago, I criticised Hyndburn Borough Council for the state of the pitches and facilities at the area's sports grounds.
Last Saturday, I played a football match at Kings George Playing fields in Accrington.
I have to say the new pavilion is magnificent and the dressing rooms and showers could be used in any football stadium in England -- they are that good. So well done to Hyndburn Council and let's see more of the same standard at more of the venues around the area.
The end of another season in our local area, and our local teams have had a mixed bag of results. Accrington Stanley have a great chance of a cup double and Rossendale still have chance of the play-offs.
Clitheroe did a magnificent job in the FA Vase although Nelson and Darwen have both under achieved. And Padiham have had a decent season under my mate Taddy (Graham Howarth). All Rovers fans can now sleep easier after Saturday's's good win at Boro.
It has been a great season for us, a trophy, Europe next season.
We could not have asked for anything more.
Lastly a messge to Steve Cummins and all Clarets fans, who have recently been dogging us Rovers fan.
They kept say how you were going to replace us in the Premier League next season. Well fairy tales and miracles only happen in books and stories not reality.
Also Burnley fans should back the number one.
Why? Last season they missed out by ONE point, this year they missed out by ONE goal.
They are still in Division ONE, ONE Division lower than Rovers and as Stan Ternent said "ONE day we might make it."
