ROE Lee Mixed Bowling Club were just one of the teams honoured at Audley Indoor Bowling League (Sports Council) annual presentation awards.
For Roe Lee picked up their Division Three championship at the presentation held at Audley Sports Centre -- where Blackburn Rovers legend Bryan Douglas handed out the awards.
Douglas, who also plays in the Audley Indoor Bowling League, presented Roe Lee with the Division Three shield after they pipped eventual runners-up Livesey to the title.
Division One winnners were Pleasington 'A' with Corporation 'A' finishing in second place.
Rockcliffe were crowned Division Two winners with Philips claiming the runners-up spot.
In the team knockout competition, Corporation 'A' beat St Stephen's 'A' in the final.
The singles competition attracted a total of 85 entries and John Chatwin of Rushton Street took the honours, beating R Heys of Rockcliffe in the final.
Barry Hamer and Cliff Hope won the doubles title after they beat Joan Jenkinson and Richard Turner in the final. The event was again well supported with 88 bowlers taking part.
The triples competition, which was sponsored by Gibson Sports, was won by Philips with Audley House named runners-up and the winners were presented with their trophy by Mr and Mrs Knowles of Gibsons.
The long running league has provided good competition bowling for more than 200 players on midweek evenings at the Blackburn sports centre. And all of the players in the league are senior citizens. A total of 190 members attended the presentation evening.
Ian Jenkinson, chairman of the Audley Indoor Bowling League, thanked Bryan Douglas for taking time out to present the trophies and also presented Mrs Knowles with a basket of flowers as a 'thank you' for sponsoring the triples competition.
