STUDENTS from Accrington and Rossendale College enjoyed sweeping success in a regional competition aimed at building their skills.
Two of the construction students took top places in the North-West Skillbuild contest -- beating off competition from the Isle of Man and Cheshire.
Chris Pickup, of Blackburn, won the senior brickwork competition.
Liam Walsh, of Oswaldtwistle, came first in joinery, David Heys, of Oswaldtwistle, was second in the joinery competition, John Belshaw was third in the same contest, Adam West, from Accrington, came second in painting and decorating, Wesley Slattery from Rawtenstall finished second in plastering and David Anwar, of Great Harwood, was third in junior brickwork.
