THE first team's season ended in huge disappointment at Turf Moor on Sunday but there is still a lot to sort out on the youth side for the Clarets.
Youth team manager Terry Pashley admitted: "We have got decisions to make about players at first, second and third year level and we have decided that it is best to tie it all up before making any official announcements.
"We have offered places to five or six new young lads but we have to tie up their medicals and we are also waiting on a couple of decisions from Irish lads we have made offers to.
"Over the next two weeks I will be talking with all the players and we still have a couple of lads who are coming back from injury. Those injuries (to Robert Grimes and Rhys Carpenter) have taken longer to heal than we wanted but they are getting closer.
"We have still got three games left to play but everything will be sorted out in the next fortnight."
It is an anxious time for the young players who are hoping to make a career in football with the three senior players, Earl Davis, Andrew Waine and Andrew Leeson, all hoping they have done enough to earn full time contracts.
The trio have done well for the reserves this season but have a lot more work to do if they are to break into Stan Ternent's team.
They have benefited from playing alongside experienced players including Mitchell Thomas, Tony Ellis and Lennie Johnrose.
Other youngsters including Matthew O'Neill and Joel Pilkington have also done well for a reserves side that only missed out on the Avon Insurance Premier League title on the final day of the season.
It is only the youth side that has to complete its campaign for this season and they had a game called off at the weekend when a virus swept through Chester City and left them with only two fit players.
Pashley said: "We will now finish with a game at Chester on FA Cup Final day after two home games against York City (tomorrow) and Grimsby Town (next Tuesday)."
The youngsters have won all but one of their Merit League games in the second section of their season.
