DEAN West and Arthur Gnohere were the big winners at Burnley Football Club's annual Player of the Year presentation evening.
Just 24 hours after the Clarets suffered Turf Moor heartache, missing out on a place in the play-offs by just one goal, the ground was the venue for the event where the fans took the chance to honour the men who have given them so much pleasure this season.
Right back West claimed 11 of the 15 player of the season awards, handed out by supporters' clubs across the country.
His consistency and reliability was rewarded and he admitted: "It is a special evening for me."
His number one fan, 17-month-old Charlie, was there with West's wife Samantha and she joked: "We will have to get a big new picture rail that is out of Charlie's reach."
Strikers Gareth Taylor and Ian Moore both picked up one award and cult hero Gnohere got a couple. And it was the French defender's stunning winner against Preston North End in December that was hailed as the best goal of the season by a number of the supporters' clubs while a couple of others opted for Paul Cook's outrageous chip against Walsall.
Young players Brad Maylett and Earl Davis both picked up a couple of awards while another teenager, Joel Pilkington, collected the John Watson Trophy.
Manager Stan Ternent collected three special achievement awards to mark a fourth successive season of improvement at Turf Moor.
The players took the opportunity to thank the fans for their support throughout the season as they vowed to go at least one place better next season after a second successive seventh place finish.
First team coach Mick Docherty was the master of ceremonies and he insisted: "The players have been magnificent and so have the fans."
There was obvious disappointment at the failure to make the play-offs but at the same time a determination to come back even stronger next season.
