PUPILS from two schools in Blackburn with Darwen will take part in a project to raise awareness of the environment.
Blue Fish is a pilot project sponsored by the Environment Agency to increase knowledge of the pollution of rivers and streams and how they are affected by surface water drains. Groundwork Blackburn is also involved.
Two schools are taking part in the pilot scheme: St Barnabas CE Primary School, Darwen, and Queen's Park High School, Shadsworth.
Pupils will learn about the water cycle, discuss how water is used in homes, towns and cities, and how waste water is disposed of. They will also be shown how to identify drains around their school.
