THE wife of Colin Hendry was said to be showing further signs of improvement in hospital today.
Denise Hendry is still being cared for in the critical care unit at the Royal Preston Hospital more than a week after being admitted and diagnosed with septicaemia.
She was still "very poorly" but was said to be making a slight improvement.
The statement comes after hospital staff confirmed on Friday that Denise's condition had improved.
The 35-year-mother of four contracted the sometimes-fatal blood disease after undergoing an operation for liposuction at the Broughton Park Private Hospital, in Preston.
The hospital, which specialises in cosmetic surgery, has so far refused to comment.
Messages of support have flooded in for the one-time Rovers ace and his wife.
Through a statement released by Royal Preston Hospital last week, the former Scotland captain thanked everyone for their thoughts.
