A SPURNED mother of five caused almost £1,000-worth of damage banging on three doors.
Burnley Magistrates heard how Andrea Clayton, 33, believed her boyfriend, from whom she had just split up, was living at one of the houses and was in a temper when she went to the home of Sylvia Jones -- the mother of his new girlfriend.
Clayton, of Railway Street, Nelson, admitted three counts of damage and was given a 12 months conditional discharge. She must also pay £200 compensation.
Philippa White, prosecuting, said the defendant was seen banging on three doors in the same street at different times over a short period. She kicked and punched the doors.
Bridget Hibbert, defending, said Clayton had just separated with her partner of seven and a half years, Craig Clayton. He had taken with him some of the children's Christmas cash and she was aggrieved about that.
Before the offences, her daughter had met up with Mr Clayton and his new girlfriend and she had been taunted and antagonised.
Mrs Hibbert said the defendant had turned to drink but regretted that now. She had also been taking medication for depression which had mixed with the effects of alcohol.
Clayton believed Mr Clayton was living at number 40 on the street. In temper, she went to the home of Sylvia Jones, the mother of Mr Clayton's new girlfriend.
The defendant admitted there was no excuse for her behaviour and she was very sorry for what she had done. She had not been in trouble for quite some time.
