POLICE in Leyland are appealing for an elderly man to come forward following an incident on Saturday April 20 when his wallet was stolen in Hough Lane at 2.30pm while he was getting onto a Fishwick's bus heading toward Preston.
Officers say the offender approached the elderly man from behind and pushed him. The victim lost his balance and the thief stole his wallet from his back pocket.
A bus inspector and off-duty police officer -- who arrested the offender -- witnessed the incident.
But before police arrived the victim had left the scene without leaving any details.
He was last seen taking a bus to the Mill Street area of Farington. If you are the victim, or have any information call PC David Woollam on 415815.
