SHAKERS manager Andy Preece has wielded the axe and cut his squad by a total of eight players.
The manager, joint chairmen Fred Mason and John Smith along with the administration team, have scaled down the squad of players before they depart for their summer break.
Out go Matt Murphy, Paul Reid, Nicky Thompson, Sam Collins, Adam Martin, James Morris, Marc Whiteman and Bhaichung Bhutia. All have been released are now available to other clubs.
Meanwhile, Matty Barrass, Nicky Hill and Lee Connel have all been offered new deals. Gary Evans and Glyn Garner were also offered new contracts and both have signed new two year contracts within minutes of them being offered. Steve Redmond has also agreed a three month contract.
