A BAR boss has pledged to install CCTV cameras outside his venues in a bid to reduce the number of violent incidents in the area.
Scott Moon, who manages Cubes and the Chocolate Bar, in Duke Street, Blackburn, made his pledge during a meeting of Blackburn with Darwen's licensing committee.
Mr Moon's mother, Janina, who is licensee of the Chocolate Bar was reapplying for her public entertainment licence, which enables the venue to open late and play loud music.
Mr Moon, who is licensee of Cubes, lost his public entertainment licence for Cubes late last year after members of the committee failed to believe that he had tackled repeated noise problems which were preventing nearby residents from sleeping at night.
Mr Moon said: "I am currently spending between £1.5million and £2million rebuilding the complex and part of that includes CCTV cameras.
"These alone will cost more than £150,000 and will cover entrances to the club, inside and on Duke Street itself, which I seem to have become responsible for.
"After all, who is to say the people causing the trouble came from my venues?"
A decision on the application will be made later today.
