IT'S over, and considering all the upheaval during the season PNE have done extremely well to finish in eighth place.
Every credit to the players and caretaker manager Kelham O'Hanlan for doing so well.
Now comes the time for the board to decide who is going to be the next manager.
It seems they have a short list of five, including Kelham.
This is one of the biggest decisions this board of directors has had to make so far, they MUST get it right.
The last two managers have been promoted from within, both were a gamble at the time, both gambles paid off, but can we afford to gamble again?
The circumstances now are very different from the last two occasions, we are now considered to be a leading Division One club.
If we want to remain so can we take another chance? Or do we look for a proven manager with plenty of experience, good contacts in the game, maybe a good record in the transfer market, a manager that players could look up to and want to play for.
A lot rests on the board's decision. This could be an exciting close season with ticket sales booming and the odd new player coming in. Or we could just carry on as we are and hope for the best.
Which ever way, we are certain the fans will be right behind the team, and manager, when the new season starts on August 10.
