FIRE fighters in Nelson spent 90 minutes coaxing a 15-year-old youth down from a roof after he kicked a chimney stone and injured his foot.
Police, fire crews and an ambulance were called to the scene in Fulham Road, at around 10.50pm when the youngster was spotted on a rooftop.
Sub officer Tom Simpson of Nelson Fire and Rescue said: "He was on top of a row of terraces. He climbed on to the roof but injured his ankle when he climbed on a chimney pot and kicked a big coping stone off. He still wouldn't come down."
An hour and a half later SO Simpson said the youth finally surrendered.
"The pain must have got the better of him," he added.
The fire crew used an aerial platform ladder to retrieve him and he was treated at Burnley General Hospital for his bruised and sprained ankle.
