POLICE who staged a reconstruction on national television of the rape of a teenager in her Great Harwood home say they received more than 70 calls from the public.
But they are still hoping more people will ring in with information about the attacker, who used the guise of a double glazing salesman to force his way into the girl's home, during the attack on January 19.
Officers have a number of inquiries to follow up as a result of the reconstruction screened on BBC TV's Crimewatch programme.
Two are of special interest to officers working on the case.
But Det Insp Neil Hunter, the officer leading the investigation with 24 officers, said he was disappointed more people had not rung in in relation to the fact that the man had used the guise of being a double glazing salesman to trick his way into the young woman's house.
DI Hunter said: "It is a well practised technique and I would still urge people to call in over this aspect, or any other."
The programme revealed that a police profiler thought the man had attacked before, or had used the act as a double glazing salesman before.
It also heard how the 18-year-old victim had spoken of her fear since the attack, and how she was no longer able to go out, and constantly needed support from family and friends.
The victim is still receiving counselling to try and come to terms with what happened and although she had been back to the house where the attack took place, she was not able to stay there longer than a few minutes.
