CLITHEROE is encouraging residents to rally behind the bid for Britain's Best Kept Village Competition.
The town touncil set their sights on the Lancashire-wide village beauty awards at April's meeting.
Entries will be submitted for certificates of merit in the best place of worship and special features categories.
But the council are appealing for schools and shops to join in their bid in other commercial and business-based categories.
There is also a schools competition for pictures and editorial by youngsters describing something special in the town.
