ON-THE-BALL youngsters in Bispham are looking forward to jetting off for some football in the sun.
For Bispham Junior Football Federation's under-12s team are to play in a tournament in Gran Canaria at the end of May.
David Smith, assistant manager, said: "They are going on May 30 for a week and they are playing in a four-team tournament over three days. One of the lads that used to play for us emigrated with his family to Gran Canaria last August. We have arranged it from this end, but it's made it a lot easier having someone over there to help us."
He added: "The team has been fund-raising for the last 18 months doing bag packs in supermarkets, and tracksuits have been sponsored by Blackpool-based North West Limousines and Universal Products, Kirkham."
He described the youngsters as "very excited" about their trip abroad. "Some of them have never flown. They are all raring to go -- they can't wait!"
