TEENAGE striker Chris Heslop became the latest starlet off the Clitheroe production line last night - and almost marked his bow with the winner!
Making his full debut for the NWCL outfit, 17-year-old Heslop had two chances to snatch the points in a game Clitheroe really should have won quite comfortably.
"Chris had our best scoring opportunities but he was denied by a great save and then sent another effort over the bar," said player-manager Lee Sculpher.
"But he could feel very pleased with his performance as could another of our youngsters, 19-year-old John Fagan, in midfield.
"The kids are getting their chance due to our lengthy injury list and full credit to them for the way they have gone about things. The future looks good.
Clitheroe made all the running and only some excellent goalkeeping kept out goalbound effort from Heslop, Richard Fogarty and Andrew Taylor.
