NELSON go into the final game of the season hoping the Howarth combination once more proves a hit.
Blues boss John Bailey has moved midfielder Andy up front alongside youngster Carl and together they have helped the Blues to four NWCL Division Two wins in their last five games.
"They have done well. I should have done it sooner," said Bailey whose side make the trip to Stone Dominoes tomorrow.
In theory, seventh placed Nelson have little to play for but the boss won't accept any complacency.
"We want a top six finish and a win will give us a good chance of getting that.
"It has been a difficult season with people leaving and one thing and another," admitted the manager whose side have been challenging for promotion for the last two seasons.
"But as it has panned out I am reasonably happy, especially with our finish. We have enjoyed the last 12 games where we have done well and now we want to finish on a high to take it into next season."
