WITH the disappointingly early end to the Clarets season fans have got an even longer wait than normal for the return to action.
But those who feel lost without their regular dose of Claret will already be planning their trip across the Irish Sea for the Isle of Man's annual International Football Festival.
Stan Ternent is again using the event as part of the pre-season programme and fans will be looking forward to the curtain raiser that signals the new season really is just around the corner.
The event is sponsored by the Steam Packet Company and the action begins on July 21, when Burnley take on defending champions Wrexham in the opening game at The Bowl in Douglas.
The Clarets then take on third division runners-up Luton Town, Steve Davis' former side, on Tuesday July 23.
For any fans who are interested in taking in the event, there are brochures available on the tournament at Turf Moor if you want more details.
But the number you are asked to call for more information on the tournament, travel and accommodation is 01624 644644.
The three other sides that make up the tournament are the Isle Of Man, Rochdale - previously managed by Clarets coach Mick Docherty - and Darlington, who will contest Group B.
After all teams have played their games, a play-off is held to decide the finalists, who will meet at The Bowl on Saturday July 27.
