THE season may be over as far as the footballers at Turf Moor are concerned but it is expected to be a busy few days for the staff in the ticket office.
On Tuesday the deadline for buying discounted season tickets runs out and ticket office manager Graham Raven admitted: "We are expecting to have to deal with queues of people before the end of Tuesday.
"A lot of people get paid at the end of the month so it is understandable that they wait until the last minute to buy their season tickets but we are already very happy with the take-up.
"By yesterday morning we had sold 7,800 while at the same stage last season we were only up around the 5,500.
"The good thing is that we have also had a large intake of new people wanting to be season ticket holders and that is clearly very encouraging.
"We have always had a strong base and it looks like next season will be even better.
"We know there will be a lot of renewals made over the next few days."
Once again the opportunity of buying a junior season ticket for just £55 has proved very popular and it is hoped that youngsters in the town will become lifelong Clarets by being introduced to the delights of Turf Moor at an early stage.
The prices for season tickets are as follows: James Hargreaves Upper Stand - £358 adults; £179 concessions; James Hargreaves Lower Stand - £309 adults; £155 concessions; Bob Lord Stand - £309 adults, £155 concessions; Jimmy McIlroy Upper Stand - £266 adults, £130 concessions; Jimmy McIlroy Lower Stand - £243 adults, £122 concessions.
Concessions are for senior citizens, youngsters aged 16-18 and full time students. The cost for juniors for all stands is £55.
The Burnley Football Club ticket office number is 01282 700010.
