A MAN in his 30s had to be cut free from his car last night after a collision with a bus.
All of the emergency services attended the accident in Burnley Road East, Waterfoot, last night at 6.40pm.
The driver of the bus and one passenger were treated for shock in the ambulance.
The driver of the red Ford Orion, Naveed Iqbal, of Rochdale, had to but cut free from his car by the fire services.
Police closed the road for an hour while the firefighters cut the man free.
Leading firefighter Glenn Barrett said: "We had to use cutters to free the man who was trapped in his car.
"We took off the door so that the ambulance could get him out as easily as possible and so they could put him on a long board and in a neck brace as a precautionary measure.
"He was taken to Rochdale Royal Infirmary for treatment to some cuts on his leg and some possible fractures."
