UP to 1,000 members of the Scout movement took part in celebrations of the patron saint of England in a St George's Day parade in Blackburn.
Beaver Scouts, Cub Scouts, Scouts, Venture Scouts and their leaders assembled at the shopping centre car park yesterday before parading past the Town Hall, where the salute was taken.
The parade then moved on to King George's Hall for further celebrations. Balderstone Band and Darwen Scout and Guide Band led the parade.
St George's Day was also celebrated in Clitheroe where a parade and service was held. Participants assembled at the town hall before parading to St Mary's Church for a special service.
