Farnborough 3 Leigh RMI 0 by Martyn Hindley: LEIGH RMI's season ended in dismal style as they saw Ged Kielty red-carded before crashing to a comprehensive defeat at Farnborough.
Leigh might have secured their place in next season's Nationwide Conference but they lost their last three games for the first time in their seven-year history.
The outcome was never in doubt after Kielty saw red four minutes into the second half for two bookable offences.
For Farnborough, the floodgates were open and almost before Kielty could find the dressing-room soap for the early bath, the hosts had taken the lead.
Lenny Piper thumped in a venomous drive past Mark Westhead and, with the RMI defence at sixes and sevens, they were lucky to concede only two more from Christian Lee and Nathan Bunce.
Since safety was secured with victory at Stevenage 12 days ago Leigh have pined for their summer break and after the trials and tribulations of the season both on and off the pitch, their final position of 16th is impressive for a club with such small crowds and little cash.
