WELL another weekend over and another season finished and eventually we ended the season in the middle of the table. If at the beginning of the season we had been offered this position we would have accepted this with open arms so all in all a decent season.
In our last match we played Brierfield Celtic, we played them in the last match last season losing 5-1 after our goalkeeper had a nightmare in the Cup Final, but our final game this turned out much better in our favour.
A 4-1 victory in which Rickie (can't get out of bed) Holden ended the season with a brace and for the second week running John Taylor getting on the scoresheet, and Gavin Ginola Farnworth making a rare appearance and scoring a rare solo effort.
Also on a sour note it was possibly Robert Bobby Baxter's final appearance for the Redskins.
He played in the very first match 17 years earlier when we lost 4-0 against the Sparrowhawk Hotel and what a fantastic lad he's been.
He was there come rain, hail or shine every game every week even when he was well drunk.
He scored an ab solute bag full of goals, had a great left foot and was the best header of a ball for a lad of his size in the Pendle League I've ever seen.
Bob, we will all miss you and you are too young to hang up your boots. So think about it long and hard because you're a long time watching.
All the best, everyone who's ever played with you.
