PADIHAM played their penultimate game of the season when they took on Bootle at the Arbories in NWCL Division Two last night.
There was nothing at stake and as a result it produced a free flowing game with plenty of goals.
Terry Burghall gave Bootle a 42nd minute lead but goals by Robbie Smith two minutes into the second half and Ian Whittaker four minutes later put Padiham 2-1 ahead.
Thomas Boden equalised for Bootle on the hour and after further pressure from the visitors they added a third through Steve Hughes to take a 67th minute lead.
Five minutes from time Dean Earley secured Bootle's win, leaving Padiham with one game left to play on Friday night against Daisy Hill.
