FOLK are being urged to nominate East Lancashire's unsung heroes for recognition. The Queen's Golden Jubilee Award seeks to reward service by voluntary groups and can cover a team of helpers to a few individuals in their community.
It will grant 200 awards annually and is the first government award for community and voluntary groups as a opposed to individuals, who are recognised through the honours system.
The closing date for nominations is September 30.
