SYD Little played to a large audience at Burnley's United Methodist Church.
The comedian -- one half of comedy duo Little and Large -- gave a talk at the Briercliffe Road church on Tuesday.
Born again Christian Syd was invited to the church to help raise cash for building and maintenance of the church which opened in October 2001 when Colne Road Methodist Church and Elim Methodist Church combined.
Syd talked to the audience about his public and private life and how he returned to Christianity.
Marion Hargreaves the church's events co-ordinator said: "We were not full to capacity because a lot of people thought it was going to be purely Christian when it was far from that.
"It was moving and the message came over to everybody.
"We did have a lot of people and a lot not from our church. We are letting them know church is still alive. We raised about £230."
Marion said the church hoped to organise something similar in the future.
