SENIOR citizens from across Burnley, Pendle and Yorkshire will take to the stage in Colne tomorrow to battle it out for a place in the area final of the Silver Stars Talent Contest 2002.
Fifteen people over the age of 60 have submitted an entry for the first round in the contest being Colne Municipal Hall from 2pm.
Anna Stevenson, from Pendle Leisure Trust, said: "The number of entries is up a couple on last year. Unfortunatley we won't be accepting any more entries on the day with already having 15. There is one person coming from Settle, others from Nelson, Burnley and Colne, as well as people from Skipton, Keighley and Barnoldswick."
The performances will be judged by a panel of three made up of the Mayor of Pendle, Councillor Colin Waite, a representative from Age Concern, which is supporting the event, and Norman Prince of the Houghton Weavers, who will also compere the afternoon.
The winner of tomorrow's heat will go on to take part in the area finals, which will be held throughout May and June, with the chance to win a first prize of £100, second of £50 and third of £25.
The National Final of the competition will be held in Southport in July but everyone who has taken part in the contest will receive a special souvenir certifcate.
Everyone is welcome to go along and watch the talent show. Admission is £1.
