DETECTIVES investigating a blaze at a Bolton hotel which killed a Blackpool couple have vowed the arsonist responsible will be caught.
On the first anniversary of the fire, officers leading the hunt have warned there will be no hiding place for whoever started the blaze.
William Robertson, 75, and his wife Margaret, 81, were overcome by fumes as they tried to escape the blaze which swept along the hotel's third floor corridor engulfing the building in smoke within minutes.
The fire began when three mattresses in the corridor were deliberately set alight.
A £20,000 reward for information leading to the arsonist's arrest is being offered.
Detective Chief Inspector Paul Buchanan, leading the investigation, said: "We cannot believe that whoever committed this crime has managed to keep it to themselves and we believe that during the course of the last year, the offender will have confided in someone."
