A GOLF trip of a lifetime awaits amateur Brian Hill and his Horwich PGA Professional, Brian Sharrock, if they can come through the next stage of what is now long established as Europe's biggest pro-am competition, the Lombard Trophy.
Hill took his first big step towards a luxury five-day trip to one of Europe's most acclaimed courses, San Lorenzo in Portugal, when he won his club qualifying competition with a net score of 42 points on April 13.
He and Sharrock now advance to the regional final on May 22 at Dunham Forest, where they will play one round of better-ball medal play against approximately 80 other partnerships.
Hill 63, is a company director from Horwich. He is married and has three sons. He has been playing golf for for 50 years and plays off a handicap of 6. His hobbies, apart from golf, include gambling.
Brian Sharrock 44, has been the club professional at Horwich for four years.
