I READ with interest Claire Raynor's comments about access at Preston railway station. (Citizen, April 18)
I hope she never has to use Leyland station as there is no access to platforms two and three for the disabled.
Also, if you want a ticket you must go down steps to the platform or walk all the way round for platforms one and four.
The trains are often changed to different platforms so travellers with young children or luggage may be seen legging up one set of steps and down the next and not all the guards/conductors are sympathetic to cries of 'wait for us'.
This is especially aggravated at night -- which starts at 4pm -- when the station is unmanned and no platform information is available.
Miss M Croston, Forrester Close, Leyland.
