THE Coniston Fell Race on Saturday incorporates rounds of both the English and British Championships.
Nine miles long and with 3500' of climb, it starts from the Institute, Coniston at 11:15am. Entry date has passed, so for queries about late availability call Nick Matthews on 015394-41545.
The Cottam 10K is on Bank Holiday Monday at Preston Sports Arena. Start time is 10:30am and the prize giving is at the Ancient Oak. After the main event there will be junior races from 8-9 year olds upto 14-15s.
The Southport Waterloo 15K Multi Terrain Race starts at 11:30am on Monday. There is also a 5K Fun Run at 11:30am and a 3K Fun Run at 11am. Venue is Waterloo Rugby Club, Blundellsands, Crosby.
The Wray Caton Moor Fell Race forms part of the village fair and the scarecrow festival. The 7M/1100' race takes place at 2:30pm on Sunday.
Wray village is eight miles east of M6 J34 near Lancaster. There are also junior races for under 12s, under 14s and under 17s. All the races start together.
The opening race in the Haigh Hall (Pringles Jewellers) five mile Road Race Series is on Wednesday at 7:30pm.
Registration is at Wigan Rugby Union Club, Leyland Mill Lane, off Wigan Lane close to Cherry Gardens Pub and Wigan Hospital. It is not accessible by car from Haigh Hall.
The Blackstone Edge Fell Race is on Wednesday at 7:30pm. It is 3.5 miles long and has 1200' of ascent. The start is at Lydgate Hamlet on Blackstone Edge Road in Littleborough. There will be junior prizes for 14 to 16s and 16s to 18s.
Radcliffe AC is organising a 5M Countryside Trail Race on Thursday. It starts at 7:15pm from the Masons Arms, Sion Street, Radcliffe (near Asda).
