A TEENAGER accused of causing death of an elderly pensioner has appeared before Bury magistrates.
Kamran Afzal, aged 18, of Walmersley Road, Bury, is charged with causing death by dangerous driving, failing to stop and failing to report an accident, having no insurance, no driving licence and providing false details.
Mr William Armstead, aged 73, died after a collision with a vehicle in Rochdale Old Road, Bury. Afzal was remanded on bail until May 21 when he will appear at Bolton Crown Court for a plea and directions hearing.
