SIX workshops are being run at Helmshore Textile Museum in the weeks leading up to the annual PUPPETsense Festival organised by Horse + Bamboo Theatre Company.
The workshops start tomorrow from 10am until noon and from 2-4pm and are free of charge, offering children, their parents, grandparents and aunts and uncles chance to work with professional artists to make their own puppet. There will be similar events on Saturdays May 11 and 18.
The festival takes place from May 24-26, allowing everyone the chance to take part in and watch visual and creative arts. For more information on the workshops contact the museum (tel 01706 226459) or about the festival contact Andrew Rawlinson on 01706 220241.
BLACKBURN Arts Club is presenting an evening of one-act plays featuring new talent -- people who have never appeared on stage before. Something in the Genes, a drama by Don Woods, and two comedies by David Tristram -- What's for Pudding? and Joining the Club -- will be staged at the club theatre in Gibraltar Street from Thursday to Saturday, May 23-25. Tickets (£3.50) are available from 01254 52024.
