AN eight-year-old Holcombe Brook boy will be the envy of every young soccer fan tomorrow (Sat May 4) when he leads the teams out for the FA Cup Final.
Christopher Ayre, of Fernview Drive, will carry the FIFA Fair Play flag, accompanied by Arsenal and Chelsea players at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff.
Although the Greenmount Primary School youngster is a diehard Manchester United supporter, he'll be rooting for a Chelsea victory.
Christopher was selected to be among the elite after his mum, Lynne, entered her son in a special competition.
She said: "I work with Axa Insurance which is sponsoring the cup final. The competition, which was open to all Axa employees, involved putting our children's names forward to have them lead out the teams.
"Christopher was one of six youngsters chosen. It's a fabulous opportunity and he'll travel down on Friday with his dad, Peter."
Lynne, who deals with insurance claims at Axa's Bolton office, added: "Christopher is really looking forward to the occasion and is delighted he's been selected to carry the FIFA Fair Play flag."
