AN EXHIBITION of colour photographs entitled Zen Meadow by Helen Burrow will be on display at the Dukes Gallery from May 7 - 13.
The Gallery is open Monday to Saturday 10am until 10pm and everyone is welcome.
Since her last exhibition at the Dukes of garden flower photographs, Zen Floral, she has been commissioned to take photographs of the wildflowers on a farm near to Lancaster.
Taken from close range, Helen's photographs are vivid and striking images of flowers.
She says: "The garden flowers were very brilliant colours - these wild flowers are more delicate.
All the plants were taken in situ - none were picked.
Being in the meadows photographing flowers felt like total freedom to me".
The close-up photography gives the effect of colours and shapes shifting and transforming.
Flowers which were once familiar reveal unimagined intricacies.
Helen's photographs make the viewer see the flowers in a totally new way.
Helen lives in Lancaster and has worked for the Health Service for many years at various local organisations.
Having studied photography in the past, she has now retired from the Health Service to resume her photographic studies full time at degree level which she will complete this year.
Helen's previous exhibitions have been at the Folly Gallery and at Pizza Margherita, and her work has been critically acclaimed both locally and nationally.
