BLACKBURN will be rocking throughout the Bank Holiday weekend as 30 local bands get the chance to display their talent at a special event being held at the Cellar Bar.
Starting tonight, a host of the area's most up-and-coming groups will play on a specially constructed outdoor stage at the rear of the Cellar Bar.
Michael Pennington, one of the event organisers, said: "We jut want to try and promote local bands and to show people how much talent there is out there."
Each of the four days' line-ups has bands of a particular musical type.
Tonight the emphasis is on rock with Darwen's The Reserved, the highly rated Elezium and Uncle Sponge among those playing. The first band is on stage at 5pm.
Tomorrow is very much a heavy rock/metal night with Crowbar Smile, Purify and Nightmare Visions in the line-up.
Sunday's Indie line-up has Gone Beggin, The Magic Legs Flawed and Tessen among those taking part and Monday has a mix of Indie and rock acts including High and Dry, TFL and Reform.
Quite a few of the bands have played at the Cellar Bar before," said Michael," but we wanted to see how a big event would go and if it's a success look to doing another."
For a complete run down of who is playing when check with the Cellar Bar. Admission throughout is free.
