HAIRDRESSING students at Blackburn College showed their style when they won an array of awards in a competition in York.
And among the successes was Janet Partington, 34, of Darwen who won the Yorkshire Championship by gaining the most points in the competitions.
THE student Hairdressing Competition Team at Blackburn College competed against salons and other Colleges in York and won an array of awards. Full-time student, Janet Partington, 34 from Darwen, also proved to be a cut above the rest when she gained the most points in the competitions and was awarded the Yorkshire Championship trophy.
Janet also holds the Junior Ladies' Cheshire Championship.
Last month the team won five top places in the NW Association of Hairdressing Teachers and National Hairdressers Federation held in Blackpool.
This month they will be competing at the national and international competitions at the NEC in Birmingham.
