IN reply to Councillor Dave Smith (Letters, May 6), if government money is sent to the council to squander on the likes of tin trees and so on, then if they have nothing better to spend it on they should refuse it and protest strongly that it should be spent on better things, such as our elderly.
I'm sure the people of this borough would not mind not seeing any more of these eyesores dotted around our district if it meant our elderly were looked after.
