A GROUP of people from Kassel in Germany spent time finding out about the Mayor of Pendle and his civic duties during their exchange visit to the borough.
The Pendle-Kassel Community Exchange takes place every year when members take it in turn to visit each others home towns.
It began with a visit by Pendle Youth Orchestra to Kassel more than 20 years ago and has grown in to a community event.
The families stayed for one week with their English hosts and visited North Wales, the Lakes District, Howarth, Skipton and Blackpool during their holiday. Their visit ended with a farewell party at Ighten Mount Club, Burnley.
