INVESTMENT in training and employment schemes for young people in deprived areas of Bury and elsewhere in Greater Manchester has been given a boost.
Space, a leading North West-based housing organisation, has joined forces with the Prince's Trust.
To celebrate Space's Silver Jubilee, the company raised as much money as it could to benefit local charities.
The Prince's Trust was the unanimous choice because of their involvement in so many different sectors of the community.
Space has raised more than £27,000 for the Trust which, co-incidentally, has also celebrated its Silver Jubilee.
Jackie Tyler, Prince's Trust regional director, said: "We had a double cause for celebration when Space presented us with such a fantastic sum of money and we have joined forces to identify the best way of helping those youngsters who need us most."
The Trust will target the East Lancashire and Manchester areas to fund schemes to support those aged 14 to 30.
This will include assisting business start-ups, launching personal development programmes and giving cash awards so that individuals might gain access to education or training opportunities.
Good news is that young people from Bury will be included in the project.
