PENSIONERS have received new help in the fight against bogus callers.
A pension book holder displaying the message "Beware of Bogus Callers -- Stop, Chain, Check" and crime prevention advice has been issued by Burnley's Community Safety Partnership.
The holders are being distributed by the police, Age Concern, Anchor Staying Put and Burnley and Padiham Community Housing. They can also be picked up at Burnley and Padiham town halls and the Age Concern office in Keirby Walk.
A campaign to cut the number of thefts and assaults through confidence tricksters preying on the elderly was launched in March by the Pennine Police Division.
