BURNLEY may have missed out in the race for the play-offs but Clarets fans topped one table this season as they were crowned champion Hollands pie eaters.
Burnley fans consumed more Hollands pies than any other club during last season and the club's catering department would appear to have made one of the best signings of the season last summer, when the deal to sell Hollands Pies was arranged.
The Turf Moor faithful responded and Burnley finished the season as Hollands' number one clients in the Football League, beating off Premiership opposition from the likes of Southampton and Bolton Wanderers and First Division rivals Norwich City.
Around 3500 Hollands Pies are sold at each Turf Moor fixture, which roughly means around 25 per cent of the matchday attendance eat a pie.
The club's catering manager Chris Gibson said: "We always knew Burnley supporters liked their pies and this is further proof of it.
"The sales have gone well this season and the fact that we have outsold clubs from the Premiership is a credit to the club."
